The mozaTeam @ BETT 2017

13 February 2017 Gábriel Zsófia

New year, new BETT show. This is one of Mozaik’s most important credos. As a long-time attendee, London is always calling us in January to take part in one of the largest educational expos in the world. How could we possibly resist?! BETT provides the perfect opportunity to network, meet and catch up with partners, and present mozaBook to Ministries, publishers, and potential distributor partners as well as our most important audience: teachers.

We are proud to say educators from all over the world visited our stand this year; we met teachers from the United Arab Emirates to Finland. We exchanged business cards with representatives of Chinese, Mexican, Lithuanian, and Italian companies. The show garners so much international attention, we barely met anybody from the UK! The funniest example of this was undoubtedly when a Hungarian delegation of teachers told us how proud they were to find our products showcased all the way in London.

Thankfully, our stand was always buzzing with people and excitement, and was probably one of the busiest spots in the entire hall. We even had guided tours that had us on their radar - Mozaik’s booth was often a scheduled stop as some larger groups made their way across the exhibition’s floor. It is undeniable that the bilingual mode of our 3Ds was the star of the show. Along with our tools and games, which even made a few adults weak in the knees, our interactive content was definitely one of the unique points of BETT. However, our stand was not the only place to meet Mozaik: a few of our partners, like Samsung, were also showing mozaBook on their displays.

We are certain our participation in this year’s event will translate into further opportunities and benefits all around. By making a small change with mozaBook in one classroom, we can gradually place education where it truly belongs: the 21st century. Having said that, the BETT show continues to be the number one platform for innovators in the field, so the children of the future can become the pioneers they deserve to be.

We can hardly wait for next year’s amazing experience!

‘Tis the season… to view 3Ds!

19 December 2016 Gábriel Zsófia

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, which is why Mozaik has dressed its 3Ds accordingly. This holiday season, even our awesome educational content is feeling festive. We have winter-appropriate frost and icicles as decoration, which immediately makes you feel the need to get your fuzzy mittens out. You might even spot Santa Claus, and this time around, he’s giving cool gifts to all kids, whether naughty or nice.

So just wrap up in a blanket, grab some hot chocolate and get into the holiday spirit with us! Who needs Christmas movies when you have mozaWeb?

From all of us here at Mozaik Education, have an amazing Christmas and a very happy New Year!

Mozaik in China

7 December 2016 Jessica Mizerak

You may already know that Mozaik Education is not only a digital content and software developer for education, but also a K-12 textbook publisher. But it might be a surprise to learn where you can find our textbooks around the world... for example, China!

Wuhan Yuanlai is a large company that works in many different lines of business, and education is one part of their business. Yuanlai’s education department creates high-quality educational videos for schools and libraries in China and they have chosen Mozaik Education’s textbooks to expand their offering of international curriculum.

Mozaik Education originally met the Wuhan Yuanlai Education Distribution Company at the Bett Show last year in London and so far Yuanlai has licensed 12 titles for grades 1-6 and are planning to expand their offering of Mozaik textbooks in the future. Among the titles translated into Chinese and available for purchase in China are Secrets of Our Environment, The Earth We Live On, and Natural Science. With the help of mozaWeb and our digital textbooks, Yuanlai is supporting students in learning more independently at home.

mozaBook a BETT Awards finalist in 2 categories

16 November 2016 Gábriel Zsófia

The mozaTeam has been really busy these last couple of weeks. As you may know, we exhibited at the Frankfurt Bookfair in October. However, that was nothing compared to last week, when Mozaik Education participated in 4 different events in various countries all over Central Europe. In addition, we were invited to attend the Education and Sport in the Prosperous Epoch of the Powerful State conference organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat as well. For a quick look at our time abroad, check out our Facebook page, where you can find photos from the Elementary Schools Principals’ Meeting in Dubrovnik, Croatia; the Pro Školy a Školky exhibition in Prague, the Czech Republic; Bibliotéka - Pedagogika in Bratislava, Slovakia; and Interpädagogica Wien in Vienna, Austria.

In other, even more exciting news, we also got word last week that we have been shortlisted in 2 categories as a finalist for the BETT Awards 2017. This year, Mozaik is running for the title of both ‘International Digital Education Resource’ and ‘Primary Digital Content’! The BETT Awards, much like the BETT Show - which is currently the largest education technology exhibition in the world - are held in London every year, with the most prominent players in education participating. All the most modern and innovative equipment and content are presented, so you can imagine how thrilled we were when we got the notification we had been shortlisted for this accolade.

First of all, congratulations and a giant virtual round of applause to our team of developers, designers, education specialists and innovators. This nomination reflects all their hard work and all the energy they have invested into making the imaginative and powerful tool that is mozaBook. Even though there are always adjustments to be made or fine-tuning to be done, this only goes to show how important mozaBook is to us.

Secondly, let us express how grateful and proud we are that our software is acknowledged as groundbreaking not only by its users, that is teachers and student, but that we receive recognition from our peers in the education community at the same time. It is always an honor to be up for an award, but to be hand-picked by a panel of judges and named as one of the best in our field is truly extraordinary. We hope that thanks to this wonderful opportunity, more people will get to know Mozaik Education and what it stands for.

Finally, thank you to you, our user and subscriber. You have helped us make mozaBook better with your feedback, which is essential in tailoring our product to your needs. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and your enthusiasm when we meet at exhibitions or training events; it makes our job so much easier - and obviously makes us very happy - when we get incredibly positive reactions (in Vienna, this was usually expressed by: “So cool!”) and supportive remarks from people encountering mozaBook for the first time. This is when we honestly feel like all our efforts have paid off.

How have you been doing? Are you also on the road? We would love to hear from you, too. Please leave a comment, or feel free to get in touch with us on any of our contact channels.

Mozaik 3Ds have gotten even more real!

10 October 2016 Olga Pushkina

We have amazing news for all the fans of Mozaik 3Ds:

Many of our most beloved 3Ds have gotten a makeover! They are now more colourful, more detailed and basically just much, much harder to take your eyes off them. I know it is hard to believe that Mozaik 3Ds can get even better than they already are, but our 3D developers really exceeded all possible expectations this time around.

By now, about 30 3Ds have been transformed, and our team is working hard to bring new, amazing graphics to even more of them.

Dinosaur fans should check out the new and improved, even more amazing T-Rex. T-Rex is one of the most beloved Mozaik 3Ds, and I am sure this upgrade will make it even more popular.

For Biology geeks, we have the fresh, freakishly realistic human hearing 3D. Make sure you click on the sound icon at the upper left corner of the 3D window to see how our ear processes sounds of different frequencies.

The above-and-beyond (pun intended) Gagarin 3D is ready for all the space lovers.

The brand-new version of the Red Deer is so cute that absolutely everyone should go check it out. I promise you will love it.

I could go on describing how awesome our new 3Ds are forever, but really, what’s the point, if you are just one click away from enjoying them yourself. If you are a registered mozaWeb user, you simply need to login to access the 3Ds; if you are not registered yet, what are you waiting for? It is free of charge, and you will have immediate access to some very exciting 3D models.

Now excuse me while I explore the life-cycle of the Solar System 3D.

The importance of donating blood

1 September 2016 Kelly Kennedy

Mozaik Education would like to do our part to raise awareness of the global blood shortages and the urgent need to donate blood worldwide. Please donate today! #MissingType

Many people are well intentioned and want to donate blood, but often say they “don’t have enough time.” Others may be uninformed in regards to the safety of the process. However, what is more important is to consider how precious time is for those awaiting a critical transfusion when their very safety is at stake. Blood is short… time is short… please search “give blood” in your web browser to find the nearest opportunity to donate today!

There is a lot of good and relevant information for students contained in this video, including the requirements to donate, process, safety precautions and much more.  Watch our friend Milan give blood like a champ! He doesn’t even flinch! And neither should you at the opportunity to save a life.

Mozaik believes that education is the key to overcoming ignorance and misunderstanding. Just 5 minutes could change your student’s perspective on the safety of the process, inform them of the importance of this lifesaving human service, and alleviate any fears they might have along the way. Information is power and 5 minutes is all it takes to plant the seed for informed, future blood donors.

Or better yet, turn it into an entire lesson with our human blood 3D!
